Payment Plan

The University of Illinois provides an optional UI-Pay Payment Plan that allows students/authorized payers to spread payment of anticipated tuition, mandatory fees, room, and board expenses over a number of installments for the Fall and Spring semesters. Please see the UI-Pay Payment Plan schedule of enrollment deadlines below. TheUI-Pay Payment Plan is an alternative option to the regular University payment policy and is administered by Nelnet Business Solutions. Students will not be assessed monthly late payment fees on their student account while enrolled in the Payment Plan.

Students and their families often leverage a variety of funding sources to cover the cost of college. Payment plans are provided as an additional tool that can be helpful if it fits your budget, but it is not intended to be an explicit alternative to other funding sources, like student loans. If you are receiving financial aid that will fully cover your cost of college for the semester or if you plan to pay your student account in full by the due date, there is no need to enroll in the optional payment plan. University Bursar encourages students to research all their options prior to enrollment in the UI-Pay Payment Plan.

Cost to Participate

$40 per semester non-refundable enrollment fee
$25 non-refundable fee if a payment is returned

Payment Plan Payments

Payments are deducted from your U.S. Bank account on the 20^th of each month; or charged to your U.S. credit card.
Payments made before the semester begins will be posted to your student account after tuition and fees have been charged.
UI-Pay Payment Plan budget adjustments may be necessary during the semester. University Bursar will notify students via email if your Payment Plan needs to be rebalanced.

CollegeInsure Plan

UI-Pay Payment Plan owners are covered under the Nelnet Business Solutions CollegeInsure Plan. Insurance benefits are payable to the University of Illinois under this plan.
